The Story
Jeremy Endo is the artist and weaver behind Studio TOMOKO. He received his MFA from Tufts University in 2016 and has taught print making at colleges across Boston. While he was armed with a breadth of knowledge and experience in all kinds of mediums, fiber art captivated him the most.
Studio TOMOKO pays tribute to Jeremy’s grandmother, who played an integral role in his childhood. To Jeremy, her name was Baba, because he could never pronounce obaasan, the Japanese word for grandma. The nickname stuck.
Since her passing in 2001, Jeremy has treasured the memories of their time together – and wants to ensure her legacy will live on. Her name now serves as a consistent reminder of her persistence, discipline, and love.
